We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.What You'll DoAs the US Public Sector Contracts Senior Director, you will define and lead BCG's enterprise strategy for contracting across the US Public Sector portfolio, with primary responsibility for US Federal Government contracting and oversight of State and Local government contracting. You will ensure BCG has the contract vehicles, pricing capabilities, and acquisition strategies needed to grow the business while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and risk management.Serving as BCG's most senior contracting expert for the US Federal Government and State and Local Governments, you will advise executive leadership on complex acquisition, pricing, and contractual matters. You will partner closely with Legal, Finance, Security, Business Development, and Consulting leadership to navigate ambiguity, manage risk, and develop practical solutions that enable growth while protecting the firm's interests.You will lead the contracts, pricing, and subcontracts functions as a strategic capability for BCG. Beyond overseeing day-to-day operations, you will shape the future of the function by modernizing processes, advancing digital and AI-enabled ways of working, strengthening organizational capabilities, and developing a high-performing team. Through your leadership, the contracts organization will become a source of competitive advantage that enables sustainable growth across BCG's US Public Sector business.Key responsibilities include:Strategic Function LeadershipSet the strategy, operating model, and priorities for BCG's US Public Sector Contracts function, ensuring it enables business growth while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and operational excellence.Drive identification and management of innovative contracting pathways (e.g., other transaction agreements (OTAs) and commercial solutions openings (CSOs)), contract vehicle access, State and Local Government vehicles (e.g., MSAs and cooperative purchasing), and scalable processes that strengthen BCG's competitive position.Direct engagement with key contract vehicles and client negotiations for BCG as a provider of commercial products and services, including the GSA Multiple Award Schedule, with consistent, disciplined, and strategic pricing practices.Client & Business PartnershipPartner directly with clients to appropriately shape acquisition strategies, resolve complex contractual matters, and build trusted relationships that support long-term growth.Influence BCG Partners and senior business leaders by translating complex contracting considerations into practical business recommendations.Shape stakeholder perspectives through facts, data, expertise, and persuasive narratives; modulating communication to audience, context, and level of technicalityRisk, Compliance & Operational ExcellenceOversee BCG's US Public Sector contracts portfolio, ensuring compliance with acquisition regulations, contractual obligations, company policies, and security requirements while proactively managing business risk.Resolve complex contracting challenges and drive operational improvements through process optimization, knowledge management, and adoption of digital and AI-enabled capabilities.Establish and continuously evolve policies, standards, and best practices across contracts, pricing, and subcontracting.Cross-Functional CollaborationBuild strong partnerships across Legal, Finance, Security, Business Development, Staffing, case teams, and BCG's North America and Global commercial organizations to enable successful business outcomes.Represent BCG in executive-level client engagements, negotiations, and internal leadership discussions with credibility, sound judgment, and executive presence.People LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of contracts, pricing, and subcontract professionals while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.Build organizational capability through coaching, knowledge sharing, succession planning, and continuous professional development.Demonstrate BCG's values by always acting with integrity, protecting confidential information, exercising sound judgment, and safeguarding the interests of both BCG and its clients.What You'll BringExperience15+ years of experience in US Public Sector contracting, ideally with experience both within the Federal government and industryDeep technical, functional, and role-specific expertise in US Federal Government and State and Local government commercial services contracting, contract vehicles, pricing, subcontracting, and complianceSignificant knowledge and experience in Defense (e.g., DoW) and Security agency contracting preferredA demonstrated history of actively learning, applying, and sharing the latest developments in US Federal Government contracting and large market State and Local contractingExperience leading large contracting organizations supporting at least $500M annually in US Government contracts, with a demonstrated track record of evolving and maturing such organizationsProven ability to set functional strategy, codify policies and practices, and transfer expertise to teams and senior stakeholdersA track record of leading broad, complex programs and change initiatives, including cutting through ambiguity, prioritizing highest-impact actions, and delivering results-oriented solutionsStrong judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to resolve escalated challenges while mitigating broader business impactDemonstrated leadership and people development experience, including coaching, performance management, apprenticeship, and building high-performing teamsProven ability to foster team growth, manage resources and expectations, and maintain sustainable pace while meeting ambitious deadlinesStrong executive communication skills, including the ability to frame strategic issues clearly, develop persuasive narratives, and influence senior leaders and peersDemonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships across diverse stakeholders, manage conflict constructively, and collaborate across regional and global networksGrowth mindset, adaptability, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous improvement in ways of workingHighest standards of integrity, confidentiality, sound risk management, and protection of BCG and client interestsBachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, law, public policy, or a related field; In addition, you will partner closely with Legal, Finance, Security, Business Development, and Consulting leadership to navigate ambiguity, manage risk, and develop practical solutions that enable growth while protecting the firm's interests.Additional infoThis role is designed with Senior Director–level scope and impact. Final leveling will be determined through the North America SDC process and will reflect the selected candidate’s experience, performance, and readiness for the role. As such, candidates may be considered for entry at either the Director or Senior Director level.Current Senior Directors will be considered for entry at level, while Directors will be evaluated holistically based on factors such as experience, tenure, scope of responsibility, team leadership, and performance.Format At BCG, our people and relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Occasional travel will be required.Compensation InformationThe base salary range for this role is $208,000-$231,000.
