Job Description\n BHS Workforce is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Fairfield, California.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n \n Requirements:\n \n Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)\n BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy\n BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required\n AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification preferred\n 1+ years of L&D experience required\n Experience with fetal monitoring, high-risk OB, and vaginal/C-section deliveries\n \n Duties:\n \n Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients, monitoring maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery\n Assess and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and uterine contraction patterns, escalating concerns as needed\n Administer medications, including labor induction/augmentation agents and epidural support, per physician orders\n Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide circulating support for cesarean sections\n Manage high-risk OB conditions (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress) with appropriate emergency interventions\n Provide immediate newborn care and resuscitation support as needed\n Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management options, and postpartum care\n Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU team on plan of care\n Accurately document labor progress, interventions, and patient response in the EMR\n Support patient and family through the emotional and physical aspects of childbirth\n \n \n BHS Workforce Job ID #37719188.
