UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA SEEKING CHIEF OF DIVISION OF GENERAL INTERNAL MEDICINE The University of Florida Department of Medicine is seeking a Chief for the Division of General Internal Medicine who will provide strategic vision and leadership for the clinical, educational, research, and faculty development missions of this essential and growing division. The Chief will serve as a champion for primary and comprehensive outpatient internal medicine care, advancing excellence across all missions within one of the Southeast's premier academic health centers. Applicants should be at the Professor or Associate Professor rank, either tenured or non‑tenure track. The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate A distinguished record of accomplishment and leadership in academic general internal medicine, with evidence of excellence in clinical care, scholarship, education and program development. A reputation for successfully building and leading programs that align with institutional priorities and advance innovation in healthcare delivery, population health, and academic medicine. A track record of strategic leadership, team building, and collaboration with multidisciplinary partners to achieve excellence in quality, safety, patient experience, access, and operational performance. Expertise in faculty development, mentorship, sponsorship, promotion, and fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration, wellness, and accountability. Demonstrated success in mentoring faculty, residents, and students, supporting academic advancement and development of future leaders. Experience managing complex academic, clinical, and administrative operations, including financial stewardship, resource management, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement initiatives. A commitment to advancing scholarly productivity, including support for clinical, educational, health services, implementation science, population health, and externally funded research programs. Division of General Internal Medicine The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Florida is committed to delivering the highest quality primary and consultative care to a diverse patient population while advancing the field through scholarship, innovation, and education. The Division of General Internal Medicine is a large and growing academic division with a broad outpatient clinical presence, including 33 faculty members across 3 outpatient practice sites serving a diverse patient population throughout the region. The Chief will oversee divisional clinical, educational, research, and administrative programs while leading continued growth and innovation across the Division's missions and advancing excellence in patient care, scholarship, and faculty development.
