divh2Neonatologist (MD/DO)/h2pThe Neonatologist provides comprehensive medical care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and related newborn care settings. This role focuses on advanced clinical management, family-centered care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes for neonates./ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3ulliProvide direct medical care to neonates in the NICU, including premature and critically ill infants/liliPerform comprehensive neonatal assessments, daily rounds, and ongoing management/liliDiagnose and manage complex neonatal conditions such as respiratory distress, sepsis, congenital anomalies, and metabolic disorders/liliDevelop and implement evidence-based treatment plans/liliSupervise neonatal resuscitation and stabilization in the delivery room/liliInterpret diagnostic studies including laboratory results, imaging, and blood gases/liliManage respiratory support including mechanical ventilation and noninvasive modalities/liliCoordinate care with neonatal nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, respiratory therapists, and pediatric subspecialists/liliCommunicate effectively with families regarding clinical status, care plans, and prognosis/liliParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives/liliSupervise and educate residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers/liliMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation/liliParticipate in on-call coverage for neonatal services/liliComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school/liliCompletion of an accredited Pediatrics residency program/liliCompletion of an accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship/liliBoard-eligible or board-certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine/liliAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure/liliDEA registration or eligibility/li/ulh3Skills and Competencies/h3ulliExpertise in neonatal physiology and critical care/liliStrong clinical judgment and decision-making skills/liliAbility to manage high-acuity neonatal patients/liliExcellent communication and family counseling skills/liliCommitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care/li/ulh3Work Environment/h3ulliNeonatal intensive care units, delivery rooms, and newborn nurseries/liliSchedule may include day, night, weekend, and on-call coverage depending on program structure/li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3ulliAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout clinical environments/liliManual dexterity for neonatal procedures and resuscitation/liliVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient monitoring and clinical assessment/li/ul/div
