Available Shift: 3rd Shift - Monday-Friday - 11:00pm-7:00am. Starting hourly pay rate: $24.47 plus $1.00 per hour shift differential. Eligible for annual discretionary bonus and step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years. A Brief Summary of This Position The Robotic Welder works under the direction of the Production Supervisor or Lead Person and is responsible for set‑up and assembly of products for the unit by performing production welding and tack welding to pole shafts using the GMAW process. Essential Functions Use GMAW process to tack weld various small components to round or square shafts to make a pole assembly for structural welds. Assemble the pole using its components (square or round shaft, base plate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon‑top, and other small parts). Manually position the shaft on a stationary turner for assembly. Move under, around, and over poles as necessary to position the assembly. Use a jib crane to lift components such as base plate and arm mounting simplex into place. Frequently push, lift, and pull up to 50pounds. Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed for assembly. Locate and gather parts from the staging area maintained by storeroom personnel. Use a plasma torch to cut steel. Utilize jigs for cutting holes in shafts to insert hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Measure distances and angles with tape measure, micrometer, levels, squares, and angle finders. Perform arithmetic in feet, inches, fractions, and decimals; convert between fractions and decimals using a table. Work in confined areas along the pole assembly line to accurately measure and assemble components. Use motorized grinders, buffers, stone grinders, and drills to assemble products. Maintain safety awareness, detect and correct unsafe conditions. Maintain necessary professional competencies, certifications, and licenses. Inform management of any training needs. Consult management immediately if tasked with work outside training or comfort level. Wear protective goggles or hood to protect eyes from harmful rays. Perform all other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Be able to read and write English. Use common manufacturing math. Have at least 6 months previous experience welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, or graduate from an acceptable technical training program focused on welding. Pass GMAW 1‑G flat plate and/or rotational weld test and maintain certification. Hold a high school diploma or GED. Have 1 year of previous experience welding in an assembly environment. Have 1 year of previous experience welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Have 1 year of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools. Accurately and honestly check one's own work for quality assurance. Be a person of passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results. Working Environment and Physical Efforts Stand for the duration of scheduled shifts; bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and occasionally climb. Lift up to 50pounds 10% of the time; average weight of parts lifted is 25pounds. Maintain adequate dexterity and stamina to sustain expected production. Continual awareness and concentration are required to ensure safe, efficient operation and material flow. Eyesight must be correctable to 20/20 or better.
