Embark on a rewarding journey supporting the educational and developmental growth of students as a paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year! Two full-time contract positions are now available, focusing on 1:1 pediatric caseloads in a school-based setting near Pittston, PA. As an essential part of a dynamic educational team, you will play a key role in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students who benefit from individualized attention.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, especially in school or pediatric settings
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and supporting students with unique needs
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with students, educators, and families
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Patience, adaptability, and commitment to student success
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related college coursework preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, 1:1 support to an assigned student, assisting with academic tasks, behavior management, and classroom participation
- Implement individualized learning strategies under the supervision of teaching staff
- Foster a nurturing and safe atmosphere to promote student confidence and independence
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other educational professionals for the best outcomes for each student
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and daily activities, communicating updates as needed
- Follow all school policies and protocols during onsite work
