Work Environment This role is situated in our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center, where our multidisciplinary team collaborates to provide holistic care. As a Physical Therapist, you will work onsite alongside a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and case managers, fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and mutual support. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to identify physical impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities. Develop personalized treatment plans based on physician directives that include setting measurable goals for rehabilitation. Implement treatment programs utilizing a variety of modalities, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient education to enhance recovery and improve functional outcomes. Document all patient interactions meticulously including evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge summaries in accordance with organizational protocols and best practices. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and support staff, guiding them in providing optimal patient care and ensuring treatment efficacy. Engage with healthcare professionals across disciplines, including physicians and occupational therapists, to collaborate on patient care plans and assessments. Evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet the evolving needs of patients. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and contribute to maintaining high productivity standards within the rehabilitation team. Patient Population / Client Focus The Physical Therapist will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic pain conditions. This role requires an understanding of the unique challenges faced by patients as they navigate their recovery journeys. The therapist will implement evidence-based practices tailored to the individual needs of patients across all age groups, ensuring a compassionate and effective approach to care. Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. Current and valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia. Strong written and verbal communication skills appropriate for a clinical environment. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and documentation processes. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented atmosphere with a focus on multidisciplinary care. Preferred Experience A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation setting is highly preferred. Experience working with a variety of diagnoses and treatment modalities is desirable.
