Specific Responsibilities: Surveillance & Data Analysis: Track infection rates, analyze data patterns, and investigate outbreaks to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences. Policy & Protocol Development: Create and update hospital guidelines for sanitation, sterilization, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with CDC and WHO standards. Education & Training: Conduct training sessions for clinical and administrative staff on infection containment techniques, hand hygiene, and safe disposal of medical sharps. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure the facility adheres to local, state, and federal regulations. They also report communicable disease data to public health authorities. Risk Assessment & Auditing: Conduct regular walkthroughs to audit sanitation procedures, evaluate environmental services (e.g., room cleaning), and spot potential infection risks.
