Surgical Technician Position
Position Overview:
Hiring for full-time or per-diem positions. Schedule will be discussed during the interview. Hiring levels include surgical tech, senior surgical tech, and lead surgical tech.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare surgical cases under the guidance of a registered nurse.
- Allocate surgical supplies and instrumentation.
- Organize and maintain the sterile field during procedures.
- Pass sutures and instruments to the surgeon as needed.
- Assist with terminal cleaning of the surgical suite and instrumentation.
- Apply advanced skills to support optimal patient care and perioperative performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of a surgical technology program.
- Completion of competencies for all general service lines and at least 50% of advanced service lines.
- Environmental orientation within 30 days of hire.
- Unit-specific competency within 90 days of hire.
- Certified surgical technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire.
- Basic life support through the American Heart Association upon hire.
Experience by Level:
- Surgical tech: At least 2 years of experience as a surgical tech.
- Senior surgical tech: At least 3 years of experience as a surgical tech.
- Lead surgical tech: At least 5 years of experience as a surgical tech.
