Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19 , and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 p ercent and will receive 5  PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Under the general direction of the Chief of Pharmacy and the Chief Executive Officer, the Pharmacist II plans, organizes, and manages the work performed in the facility’s pharmacy services and supervises the work of the pharmacy staff. The Pharmacist II supervises, instructs in the preparation and dispensing of drugs and medications, reviews and transcribes patient charts and medications, and ensures proper handling and record keeping of drugs, poisons, and narcotics in accordance with Department policies, federal and State laws, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a licentiate in pharmacy issued by the State Board of Pharmacy. and Either IOne year performing the duties of a Pharmacist I in the California state service.

Two years of experience as a registered pharmacist, preferably including one year in a hospital pharmacy.

Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting.

Tuberculosis (TB) testing is required for candidates new to CCHCS prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
