Pay: $52k - $86k Job Summary The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for coordinating functions for the Maintenance Department, including assisting with the maintenance of equipment and procurement of equipment and supplies to effectively plan all maintenance work projects. This role will partner with the Maintenance leadership team to provide recommendations to improve the Maintenance Department procurement record keeping processes and procedures. Job Responsibilities Order and maintain department office supplies and maintenance parts, ensuring appropriate inventory levels are maintained. Track and monitor inventory levels for tools and parts using JDE software, keeping equipment records and documentation up to date. Receive inventory, create labels, and enter new part numbers into JDE. Fulfill part and equipment requests for maintenance technicians, including preparing kits and staging pick-ups for mechanics and electricians. Research parts using Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) catalogs to identify cost-effective options. Manage the parts inventory system, including spare parts status, purchase requisitions, vendor pricing, warranties, and work order tracking. Support routine monthly equipment and building maintenance by assisting with Smurfit WestRock’s preventative maintenance schedules. Follow all Smurfit WestRock safety procedures and guidelines. Collaboration & Team Support (People and Culture) Partner with the Reliability Manager to review identified issues and confirm required parts for maintenance checklists. Work closely with the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to ensure parts are ordered and delivered on time, especially during planned outages. Technical Skills JDE (JD Edwards) system CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) Working knowledge of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) catalogue To perform the duties of the job, this role requires: Frequently use both hands for fine motor tasks, including grasping, pinching, and typing. Frequently reach with hands and arms to perform job tasks. Perform repetitive motions, including regular keyboard use. Occasionally kneel or work close to the ground for up to 5 minutes at a time. Occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds. Communicate verbally with others, including speaking loudly or quickly up to 25% of the time. Safely and accurately prepare, review, and analyze data; monitor computer screens; and inspect small parts or defects requiring close visual attention. Primarily works indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Occasionally works indoors in non–climate–controlled areas that may experience high or low temperatures. Occasionally works outdoors in natural weather conditions, including both hot and cold environments. This role is mostly sedentary, involving sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking, standing, or other movement. Work may take place in a noisy environment; strict adherence to all safety rules and regulations is required. Experience Required: 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance environment Preferred: Working knowledge of parts, electrical, mechanical knowledge, material purchasing and planning experience Preferred: Parts inventory management system application experience Education Required: High School diploma or G.E.D. The salary range for this position is $51,750.00 - $86,250.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
