Emergency Management Specialist

Major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Supports development, implementation, and evaluation of emergency management plans, protocols, and guidelines.
• Coordinates and collaborates with VAMC, VISN, VHA OEM, and federal, state, and local partners on EM planning and response.
• Assists in planning, conducting, and evaluating emergency exercises using HSEEP principles.
• Conducts hazard vulnerability analyses (HVA) and contributes to risk assessment and mitigation activities.
• Supports continuity of operations planning, contingency planning, and development of EM operational procedures.
• Provides assistance during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations and supports incident management functions.
• Assists with logistics, including tracking supplies, managing deployable assets, and supporting resource readiness.
• Coordinates and supports DEERS/DEMPS volunteer program activities, including recruitment, training, and deployment readiness.
• Provides input on policy and procedure updates related to emergency management programs.
• Supports drills, exercises, and decontamination operations, including coordination with related hospital response teams.

Work Schedule: Monday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
