Clinical Laboratory Supervisor

Ensure support to the Fort Smith Clinic, CLIA Lab Director and manager. Ensure day-to-day operations go smoothly and that information is shared and exchanged. Set goals, prioritize completing demands, and manage tasks efficiently. Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Maintain good working relationships with all programs and divisions within the department and LPS. Make effective use of organization resources and demonstrate system thinking. Plan, coordinate and execute while working independently. Demonstrate complex problem-solving skills by anticipating, analyzing, interpreting and solving problems. Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive strategic and personnel-related information. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fort Smith Laboratory. Active supervision of technical staff, performing moderate complexity testing procedures. Ensure proper documentation of deviations, initiate investigations and assist Quality Assurance. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or other ASCP-approved discipline. Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience. MLS/MT ASCP certification or equivalent. Experience with CLIA requirements. Five (5) years of general laboratory experience with current instrumentation utilized at UAMS (preferred). Experience with COLA, LIS systems, Microsoft Office programs, and inventory control (preferred). Experience with pulling data and creating reports (preferred). Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in clinical laboratory operations, including effective communication, problem-solving, and resource management. Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and MLS/MT ASCP certification, with experience in CLIA compliance and laboratory supervision.
