Job Description

Job Summary:
The Radiology/CT Technologist is responsible for performing advanced imaging procedures, including CT and MRI scans, with minimal supervision. The role involves preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring safety and accuracy throughout the procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform sophisticated imaging studies in CT and MRI, utilizing technical expertise and independent judgment.
• Prepare patients and rooms by entering data, positioning patients, and setting up equipment for imaging procedures.
• Assist radiologists during interventional procedures, handling sterile equipment and monitoring patient safety.
• Operate imaging systems and inject contrast media following prescribed protocols, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of exams in PACS, verifying images for correctness of patient info, labeling, and orientation.
• Follow all radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff, and monitor for adverse reactions during contrast injections.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NYS license as a Radiologic Technologist with ARRT certification in CT and MRI.
• Possess at least 1-2 years of experience performing imaging procedures.
• Be certified in BLS and NYS DOH Injection of Contrast.
• Demonstrate proficiency in patient preparation and imaging equipment operation.
• Be knowledgeable in radiation safety, contrast media administration, and emergency protocols.
• Multilingual skills are a plus to enhance patient communication.
