Junior Accountant Bookkeeper

Candidates will be expected to be in-office 5 days a week in Global Merchandising's downtown San Francisco office. Position Overview Global Merchandising Corporation (GMC) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to support the day-to-day accounting and logistics coordination for an international trading business. The ideal candidate is comfortable using QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting processes that support a global customer and vendor base. Responsibilities Support the accounting needs of a growing international trading business by maintaining accurate records in QuickBooks and ensure accounting data is entered consistently and on time. Work under company Lead Accountant in a broad range of accounting activities including: AP, AR, monthly accounting and financial reporting, commission schedules, payroll administration and employee benefit programs, inventory reconciliation and accounting controls, customer and vendor set-up, and various reporting projects related to annual tax submission to company’s outside accountants. Process and track transactions involving a global customer and vendor base, including international payments and cross-border business activity. Coordinate with internal teams and overseas customers or vendors to clarify invoices, payment details, credits, and account information. Manage digital and physical filing systems, updating databases, and tracking inventory. Work in support of the logistics coordinators in routing purchase orders, tracking shipments of products from origin to shipping point and making special arrangements as necessary. This role has a strong focus on preparing documentation such as, but not limited to, purchase orders, international and domestic shipping documentation, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin. Qualifications 0-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Working knowledge of QuickBooks & strong Microsoft Excel skills, including organizing data & preparing reports. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and time zones. Familiarity with international trade, import/export, or foreign trading businesses is desirable. Compensation and Benefits The base salary for this role will be $72,000 - $78,000. Based on your qualifications, previous experience, and transferrable skills, the Company will determine at its sole discretion, the salary offered.
