Assistant Sports Performance Coach, Part-Time Location: San Antonio, TX Job Type: Part Time (up to 19 hours per week) Salary Range: Up to $27.33 per hour, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Required Application Materials Resume is required Cover Letter is preferred Overview The Assistant Sports Performance Coach assists coaches in all aspects of the annual strength program. Provides professional knowledge, technical expertise, and supervisory skills to oversee all aspects of the strength and conditioning programs designated by the immediate supervisor. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and supervision of year-long strength and conditioning programs. Core Responsibilities Assist in all aspects of assigned athletic programs. Design, implement, and supervise the year-long strength and conditioning programs designated by the immediate supervisor. Aid in supervision of the athletic weight room. Aid in supervision of Graduate Assistants, Interns, and Work Study Students. Aid in the cleanliness and upkeep of the athletic weight room and equipment. Travel with designated sport team(s) when in-season. Communicate with sports medicine staff daily. Communicate with the sport coach or coaches daily. Attend professional development opportunities as approved by supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. One (1) year of related work experience. CPR and Basic First Aid Certification. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC). Ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Verbal and Written Communication. Collaboration. Knowledge of Strength Training. Knowledge in Specific Conditioning Techniques. Working Conditions 10–14 hour days on the floor, coaching, on the field, coaching, and in the office. Weekend, holiday, and summer hours as required. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business‑related events. Workday, location, and work hours may vary depending on the department's needs. Physical Demands Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and MVR may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
