Bus Driver
The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers along designated routes, adhering to schedules, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires thorough knowledge of road safety regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage and assist passengers.
Essential Duties or Responsibilities
The essential duties and primary responsibilities below are intended to describe the general requirements of this job and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.

Passenger Transportation
- Safely operate a college bus along designated routes, ensuring punctual and efficient service.
- Respond professionally to unexpected situations, including road incidents or emergencies.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and college policies to ensure the well-being of passengers and others on the road.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checks on fuel levels, oil, lights, brakes, and other essential systems.
- Promptly report mechanical or safety concerns to the appropriate security or maintenance personnel.
Route & Navigation Management
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned routes and make timely adjustments in response to traffic conditions, road closures, or inclement weather.
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately log trip details, including mileage, working hours, and passenger counts, in accordance with college procedures.
- Complete incident reports as required for any issues or events that occur during transit.
Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 25 years of age
- Valid Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement
- Documentation of a current Commercial Driver's License physical exam (medical card)
- Pass driving record check
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong driving and maneuvering skills
- Ability to apply safe driving techniques in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of basic mechanical understanding
- Ability to work fluctuating hours, including weekends
