Analytics/Ontology Engineer - INTL

The Analytics Engineer will lead the design and development of scalable data and semantic models within Microsoft Fabric, leveraging programmatic approaches such as TMDL and CI/CD pipelines rather than relying solely on Power BI UI-based development. On a day-to-day basis, the engineer will build and optimize enterprise-grade semantic layers, develop automated data workflows and data agents, and create reusable templates and frameworks to standardize analytics solutions across teams. The role will involve working heavily in tools like VS Code to manage and version artifacts, driving high-value automation, and enabling agentic development practices. Additionally, this individual will partner closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, improve platform adoption, and ensure that solutions are scalable, repeatable, and aligned with enterprise data modeling standards.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering / Data Engineering within modern data platforms
Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including end-to-end development of data and semantic layers
Proven ability to build scalable semantic models programmatically (not solely through Power BI UI)
Strong expertise in Tabular Model Definition Language (TMDL) and semantic model lifecycle management
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for data and semantic model deployment
Hands-on experience with agentic development and building data agents / automated analytics workflows
Proficiency with Visual Studio Code (VS Code) or similar tools for managing and versioning analytics artifacts
Experience designing reusable templates, frameworks, and automation solutions to scale analytics capabilities
Strong understanding of enterprise data modeling and semantic layer best practices
Demonstrated ability to standardize, optimize, and enable teams through scalable, production-grade solutions
Excellent communication skills with experience driving best practices adoption across teams
