Availability

• Must be available to work 3–5 days per week, typically 35–45 hours
• Work schedules will vary based on the operational needs of the Food Truck
• During weeks requiring direct operational support, schedules may consist of fewer, longer workdays
• When daily operations are fully supported by Truck Leaders, schedules will typically follow a more traditional 4–5 day workweek focused on business leadership, planning, and development
• Must have flexibility to work evenings, Saturdays, and special events as business needs require
• Sundays off

Pay Range

• Food Truck Director in Training: $18.00–$19.00 per hour
• Food Truck Director: $20.00–$23.00 per hour upon demonstrating the ability to operate independently

Position Overview

Chick-fil-A Enterprise is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial leader to serve as our Food Truck Director . This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and grow a mobile restaurant operation while extending Chick-fil-A's hospitality into the communities we serve as we serve within a 2-hour radius from our home base in Enterprise.

The Food Truck Director is responsible for the overall success of the Food Truck as a business, including sales growth, profitability, people development, operational excellence, and guest experience.

Unlike a traditional restaurant leadership role, this position combines hands-on operational leadership with business management, community engagement, strategic planning, and team development.

Our goal is to develop a Director who can build a team of capable leaders who operate the Food Truck independently, allowing the Director to focus on growing the business, improving systems, and creating new opportunities to serve our community.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ownership, self-discipline, adaptability, financial awareness, and a genuine passion for developing people. They must be comfortable working independently, making decisions, solving problems, and stepping into operations when necessary to support their team.

Roles and Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Financial Performance

The Food Truck Director takes ownership of the overall performance and long-term success of the business by:

• Setting and executing weekly, monthly, and quarterly business goals
• Monitoring sales, labor expenses, food costs, and profitability
• Identifying opportunities to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency
• Developing and executing strategies to grow the Food Truck business
• Maintaining accountability for financial performance and responsible stewardship of resources
• Evaluating business results and taking initiative to address performance gaps

People Leadership & Development

The Food Truck Director builds a high-performing team capable of delivering excellence without constant supervision by:

• Recruiting, selecting, training, and developing Food Truck Leaders
• Establishing clear expectations and accountability for team performance
• Coaching leaders to make decisions, solve problems, and operate independently
• Creating a positive culture centered on teamwork, ownership, and genuine care
• Developing future leaders and building a sustainable leadership pipeline
• Supporting team members through encouragement, recognition, feedback, and accountability

Operational Excellence

The Food Truck Director ensures every Food Truck operation consistently reflects Chick-fil-A's standards by:

• Maintaining high standards for food safety, food quality, speed, accuracy, and guest experience
• Overseeing scheduling, staffing, and labor deployment to support operational needs
• Ensuring consistent execution of opening, closing, inventory, cash management, and operational procedures
• Evaluating systems and implementing improvements that increase efficiency and consistency
• Supporting Truck Leaders during high-volume events, unexpected staffing challenges, or other operational needs
• Maintaining readiness to personally lead or assist daily operations when necessary
• Ensuring compliance with applicable food safety, health, and operational requirements

Business Growth & Community Relationships

The Food Truck Director actively seeks opportunities to expand our reach and strengthen community relationships by:

• Identifying and securing profitable events, partnerships, and operating locations
• Developing relationships with schools, businesses, community organizations, and event coordinators
• Collaborating with the Marketing Team to promote the Food Truck and drive awareness
• Planning operating schedules and events that maximize sales opportunities while minimizing downtime
• Representing Chick-fil-A Enterprise professionally throughout the communities we serve

Logistics, Equipment & Systems

The Food Truck Director takes ownership of the systems and resources required to keep the operation running effectively by:

• Overseeing inventory levels, ordering, product availability, and waste management
• Ensuring proper equipment operation, cleanliness, and organization
• Managing routine maintenance schedules and coordinating necessary repairs
• Ensuring the Food Truck is prepared and properly equipped for each operating day
• Planning the logistical needs of events, including staffing, product quantities, setup, and transportation
• Developing sustainable systems that support consistent execution and long-term growth

Previous restaurant leadership or business management experience is preferred.
