Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care within the Pre-anesthesia Evaluation Center. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at Children's Wisconsin - Milwaukee Campus. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.

• Makes independent judgments and prescribes changes in treatment in consultation with physicians and nurses; negotiates systems, plans and directs the implementation of change related to program plans and standards.

• Monday through Friday 40 hours/week
• No weekend or holiday

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience:

• Previous APP anesthesiology experience preferred.

Minimum Education:

Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.

Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.

Minimum Requirements:

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner

Certification Requirements

• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Physician Assistant

• Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
• Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
