Job Description The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line‑of‑sight supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care, and may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN. In the Intermountain Nurse Residency program, the Nursing Graduate may be utilized for up to 12 weeks while employees work toward preparing, testing, and passing the State Boards examination to obtain an RN license. After that period, or if the Nursing Graduate fails the State Board exam a second time, the employee can no longer remain in this position and must apply for any open jobs they qualify for. Failure to pass the boards or secure another role results in termination. Posting Information Rate: Nursing Grad - $32.27 per hour; New Grad RN - $35.22 per hour Shifts Available: Night and 50/50 Must have less than 1 year of RN experience to be considered a New Grad* Essential Functions Demonstrates understanding of the nursing process and how the patient plan of care is developed, implemented, and revised under direct supervision of an RN. Collects patient data (e.g., vital signs) under RN supervision and reports significant changes. Completes accurate documentation under RN supervision. Observes and discusses with the RN the prioritization of patient needs and the development and modification of interdisciplinary care plans. Observes the implementation of the patient plan of care, considering specialized needs such as physical, emotional, social factors, age, and ethnic origin. Reports patient responses and collaborates with the RN regarding changes requiring modification of nursing interventions. Participates in patient and family education under RN supervision based on assessments, diagnosis, learning readiness, and requests. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for patient care delivery within the defined role and routinely discusses all aspects of care with the RN. Recognizes and demonstrates legal and ethical implications of care delivery as a Nursing Resident, complying with regulatory standards, completing documentation, and maintaining confidentiality. Achieves Registered Nurse licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations, completing orientation and training requirements including the Nursing Residency program. Education will be verified. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see, read, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. Frequent verbal communication with patients, providers, and visitors in emergency situations. Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment and frequent computer use for documentation. Ability to lift and transfer patients and movable equipment, including items weighing up to heavy weights. Ability to walk, assist with ambulating patients, and transport supplies, including pushing and pulling gurneys and portable equipment. May need to stand for extended periods. Roles requiring driving require the ability to sit, see, and read traffic signs and signals.
