About the Role

QTrade Teas & Botanicals is seeking a Supplier Quality Coordinator to join our team in Brookshire, Texas. This is a unique opportunity for an early-career professional interested in food and beverage quality, sensory evaluation, supplier management, and supply chain operations .

Approximately 60% of the position focuses on evaluating tea, botanical, and food ingredients for quality, sensory characteristics, and suitability for production and product development. The remaining 40% supports procurement, supplier management, inventory planning, and supply chain coordination.

You’ll work closely with our Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, R&D, Operations, and Warehouse teams, giving you broad exposure to how ingredients move from supplier evaluation through production.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct sensory evaluations of teas, botanicals, and food ingredients, including appearance, aroma, flavor, texture, and overall quality.
• Evaluate supplier samples and incoming raw materials and document quality findings.
• Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs), microbiological testing results, and other supplier and quality documentation.
• Partner with QA to support supplier quality investigations, non-conformances, corrective actions, and supplier qualification.
• Collaborate with R&D on ingredient sourcing, product development, trials, reformulations, and alternative ingredients.
• Assist with identifying, evaluating, and onboarding domestic and international suppliers.
• Prepare RFQs, review supplier pricing, process purchase orders, and coordinate lead times and deliveries.
• Monitor raw material and packaging inventory and assist with replenishment planning.
• Track supplier performance, inventory levels, purchasing metrics, and product quality data.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Internship, co-op, or professional experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, product development, procurement, supply chain, or a related area.
• Basic understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and microbiological testing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with NetSuite or another ERP/MRP system is preferred.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position that combines office-based work with regular interaction in warehouse, production, and quality/laboratory areas. The position involves frequent sensory evaluation, including tasting, smelling, visually inspecting, and handling tea, botanical, and food ingredient samples.
