Technology Product Manager - TV Platform and Device Technologies

Responsibilities Technologies integral to Netflix‑supported device platforms: background in media streaming, video playback pipeline, and picture processing. Understanding of video and audio codecs/formats and display interfaces. SmartTV and streaming device capabilities including GPU performance, AI/ML use cases, and input modalities (remote, voice, touch, gesture). Formulate go‑to‑market strategies to ensure successful product feature and capability adoption. Develop and execute external product communication, creating concise and convincing product messaging and communication plans. Ensure instrumentation for measuring, studying, and monitoring key metrics for the product while in the field; proactively communicate KPIs and ongoing performance to internal stakeholders and support QBR presentations. Strategize on maximizing the reach of the latest product innovations globally and execute strategies in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Understand the value framework and expected impact of various features, articulating when and why features or enhancements should be delivered to engineering and business leaders. Oversee the progress of software features from inception to completion, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met; identify bottlenecks and propose solutions. Qualifications 3‑5 years of product management experience working on smart TVs and streaming devices with audio and/or video technologies. 3‑5 years of delivering product strategy, managing product evolution lifecycle, and creating partnerships across cross‑functional teams. Experience improving media‑rendering performance on devices. Ability to think strategically and base decisions on data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, tailored to diverse audiences. Proven experience creating partnerships with cross‑functional teams and driving large‑scale technical execution plans with measurable milestones. Capacity to balance consumer, partner, and business interests while considering technical integration tradeoffs. Required Skills Demonstrate ability to do technical product transformations, finding new opportunities and building them to scale. Knowledge of media abstraction APIs (gStreamer, OpenMax, Codec2.0). Comfortable working with ambiguity in a fast‑paced, fluid environment. Self‑starter who brings organization and direction quickly. Experience with risk analysis and modeling. Demonstrated ability to advocate and embody Netflix values. Compensation & Benefits Compensation includes an annual salary with no bonuses; employees may choose how much salary vs stock options. Salary range: $240,000–$725,000.
