LPN/LVN Opportunities at Hamilton Correctional FacilityNaphCare is hiring LPNs and LVNs to join our team of medical professionals in Hamilton, AL, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Hamilton Correctional Facility. We currently have a Part Time Weekend position and a PRN position available.As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs an LPN, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication historyTaking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weightProviding wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areasAdministering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reaction to medsMaintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCareObserving patient health and mental health statusProviding emergency first aidProviding patient education and discharge/release planningQualificationsEducation / Licenses / Certifications / RequirementsGraduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing programHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical NurseBe able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issuesMust have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.Why Join NaphCare?
