- Applying knowledge of normal development and pediatric rehabilitation principles to assess and treat a variety of communication and swallowing needs
- Communicating evaluation results, treatment recommendations, and patient progress effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care team members through verbal and written communication
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, therapists, educators, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive, family-centered care
- Educating and supporting families regarding therapy goals, strategies, and recommendations to encourage continued progress outside of therapy sessions
- Sharing clinical knowledge, evaluation techniques, and hospital procedures with students, Clinical Fellows (CFYs), volunteers, and peers as appropriate
- Providing education, in-service training, and professional support to staff and community partners as requested
- Participating in department initiatives, quality improvement activities, and projects that support organizational goals and the mission of Children's Specialized Hospital
- Completing timely, accurate documentation that meets regulatory and professional standards while supporting patient care coordination and department productivity expectations
This role might be for you if:
