This position serves the Central Region, consisting of Santa Monica and Westwood areas, primarily at the Santa Monica Campus, providing patient care for inpatient and outpatient settings. It requires participation in on‑call, holiday, and weekend schedules as prepared by the manager and supports a 4‑day schedule, 10 hours per day. Rotating shifts are also required as needed. Provide age‑appropriate assessment and interventions to meet the needs of patients and families served. Obtain, evaluate, and use information from the patient requisition, medical records, and referring physician, correlating with acquired images. Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology. Use independent judgment to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing diagnostic ultrasound systems for referring providers and interpreting physicians. Staff Sonographer One to two years of experience within the hospital/acute care setting. Must maintain active RDMS certification in one specialty, e.g., Abdomen or OB‑GYN. Graduate of a CAAHAP‑accredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred. Expected salary range: $55.94 – $73.81 per hour. Senior Sonographer Minimum of four years of prior experience within the hospital/acute care setting. Must maintain active RDMS certification in three specialties: Abdomen, OB‑GYN, and RVT. Proficiency in Abdomen, OB‑Gyn, Pediatric, and Vascular sonography; additional proficiency in interventional procedures. Graduate of a CAAHAP‑accredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred. Job Qualifications Staff Ultrasound Technologist At least one year of acute‑care (hospital) experience – required. RDMS credential in one specialty (Abdomen or OB‑GYN) – required. Senior Ultrasound Technologist Four years of prior acute‑care (hospital) experience – required (potential for advancement to Senior after six months). RDMS credential in Abdomen, OB‑GYN, and RVT – required. General Requirements BLS/CPR Certificate – required. Graduate of a CAAHAP ultrasound program – strongly preferred. AAS or higher in Medical Sonography – preferred. RDMS (AB or OBGYN) – minimum requirement. Experience in Breast Ultrasound Imaging – strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally and courteously with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, staff, and others. Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately. Ability to exercise independent decision‑making, prioritize work, and handle multiple tasks to completion within allotted time. Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness. Basic typing skills for data entry into RIS and HIS information systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to distinguish between types of procedures within assigned departments and medical diagnoses.
