General Summary Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse, the Certified Nurse Aide assists nurses in carrying out routine assignments, transporting and preparing residents and equipment, and keeping equipment and areas in an orderly hygienic condition. Responsibilities Assist registered nurses and licensed practical nurses with routine assignments. Transport and prepare residents and equipment. Maintain a clean, orderly, and hygienic environment for equipment and patient care areas. Provide patient‑appropriate care based on patient age and unit needs. Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Completion of Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program required. Work Experience Six months experience as a Nurse Aide in a geriatric setting preferred. Special Employment Requirements Clearance by PA State Police criminal history check. Enrollment on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry required upon employment. Must be 16 years of age or older; work within child‑labor restrictions. CPR certification preferred. Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required. Adherence to nursing policies and standards and maintenance of patient confidentiality. Willingness to rotate to other units as necessary. Accident or Health Hazards Occasional exposure to blood and body substances. Exposure to needle sticks possible. Working Conditions Majority of work performed in the resident living area. Work may also include transportation van and resident external appointment sites. #J-18808-Ljbffr
