Monday to Friday, 8 PM - 4:30 AM
Job Description
The Histology Technologist will work in a Pathology Laboratory, specifically within the Histology Lab (Department 705A). Responsibilities include receiving surgical specimens, accessioning specimens into Cerner, collecting blocks from Pathologists' Assistant (PA) staff, processing tissue, embedding, cutting, and staining slides.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process specimens from surgical procedures.
- Accession specimens accurately into Cerner.
- Collect tissue blocks from PA staff.
- Perform embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue slides.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Pathology Laboratory.
- ASCP certification (HT/HLT) is required.
- Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program, or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
