Job Summary And Qualifications Views patient monitors on a continual basis and informs nursing staff of any significant changes in activity immediately; accesses assistance in responding to noted changes in patients and others exhibiting signs of a heart attack, stroke or respiratory distress. Requires basic understanding of dysrythmias. Mastery of the English language and requires knowledge, ability, and judgment to: Make critical rhythm interpretations Communicate rhythm changes to staff nurse or charge nurse. Numerical ability to make simple arithmetic calculations Apply basic understanding of the function and inter-relationship of each hospital department. Organize and complete work assigned Anticipate the needs of physicians, nurses and other hospital departments Communicate the needs of patients, families and visitors in a professional and timely manner recognizing life threatening signs and symptoms of heart attack, stroke and respiratory distress.
