IT Security Engineer

Salary: $123,000 - 163,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for candidates with experience in a comparable security role, or with substantial knowledge, experience, and capability to carry out the duties described.
• Experience in incident response and digital forensics is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with attacker tactics and methodologies is important.
• Comfort working with modern automation tools and AI-assisted security platforms is expected.
• Relevant education and/or training will be considered an advantage.

• We will have our Security Engineer support the Security Operations Center within Threat Operations, with a primary focus on incident response.
• We will need you to detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents from initial triage through containment and closure.
• You will lead escalated and critical incidents, coordinate communications, follow the Incident Response Plan, and provide timely updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• You will perform host, network, and cloud forensic analysis to determine root cause, scope, and impact, and confirm containment before closure.
• You will analyze and correlate data from SIEM, EDR, and other logs to validate threats and support triage.
• You will help create, maintain, and enhance incident response playbooks and runbooks with SOC capability owners.
• You will work within automated workflows in ServiceNow SIR and help refine established processes.
• You will identify detection gaps and false-positive trends during incidents and share findings with Detection Engineering for tuning and new detections.
• You will use outputs from the Mate AI SOC platform to guide investigation and triage decisions.
• You will partner with Compliance, Legal, and Risk to ensure workflows align with business and regulatory needs.
• You will assess vulnerabilities, recommend remediation, and stay up to date on emerging threats and defenses.
• You will train and mentor other incident responders on best practices.
• You will contribute to post-incident reviews and help develop metrics that support continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on investigator role supporting detection, analysis, containment, and closure of security incidents.
