What does an Orthodontic Assistant do? Quite a bit! Orthodontic assisting is a hands-on career with a variety of skills to master. You’ll learn everything from instrument sterilization and management to assisting with wires and appliances, providing instructions, documenting patient records, and more. You’ll also become part of the patient experience—helping patients feel comfortable, confident, and excited about their orthodontic journey.

How does training work? Quest Orthodontics provides structured, supported, in-office training that starts with the fundamentals and introduces new skills as you become proficient. Your effort, focus, and commitment to learning will help determine how quickly you (and your wages!) grow in the position.

What are the qualifications to apply?

1. A desire to work a full-time position (Monday-Thursday is your permanent work schedule. With rare exception, every weekend is a 3-day weekend!)
2. Prior customer-service experience and being at ease talking with people of all ages.
3. The right background. Prior dental or orthodontic experience is nice but not required! We welcome candidates with strong customer-service experience, science-related education, or backgrounds that demonstrate good hand-eye coordination and fine-motor skills.
4. Excellent, verifiable work-related references.
5. Computer friendly- software savvy aptitude with fast, accurate and detailed data entry.
6. Preference to have a career where you are NOT sitting in front of a computer for most of your workday! Orthodontic assistants are “on the move and up and down”; standing, walking, sitting, turning... this role is the right match to those who enjoy being active.
7. You should be dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and willing to learn the terminology, procedures, and software unique to orthodontics.
