Lead Senior Accountant

About the CompanyTop company located in Overland Park is expanding its accounting department with a newly created role for a Lead Senior Accountant. This position is open due to growth and an excellent career path within the company.
The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and leadership qualities, mentoring staff. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset. About the Role Responsibilities Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesManage full-cycle general ledger accounting for multiple entitiesOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and accrualsWork closely with team members to assist with the month-end closeLead and mentor staff GL Accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedbackPrepare and review Financial StatementsAssist with the annual audit processDevelop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencies in the GL processUtilize the ERP system Qualifications 5+ years of professional accounting experience or a Senior in public accountingBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experienceCPA preferred Equal Opportunity StatementAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status
