Program Manager – Adult Services The Program Manager – Adult Services is responsible for managing systemwide programming for adults and older adults within the Central Programming Team. The role requires attention to detail, budget management, outreach, and collaborative partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Lead program management responsibilities for MCPL initiatives and strengthen relationships with federal, state, county, non‑profit, and private sector organizations. Develop and implement guidelines, policies, and procedures for programs delivered both virtually and in‑person. Manage the budget for systemwide programs and special events to enhance services and expansion. Assign, train, and supervise staff to facilitate systemwide programs and events. Collaborate with MCPL units, branch staff, and partners to market and deliver programming. Recommend and manage the composition of MCPL Ad Hoc Working Groups and Committees for Adult Services. Coordinate trainings and forums for Information Staff and other staff to improve programming. Lead promotion and marketing of programs through print, digital, press releases, and community contacts. Evaluate customer feedback from adults and seniors programs and adjust delivery accordingly. Submit grant proposals and research opportunities for innovative programs. Apply new technology to improve the implementation of systemwide programs. Exercise independent judgment, provide work products for supervisor review, and refer complex issues to the supervisor. Qualifications Three years of professional library experience planning and organizing public or similar services for adults ages 18+. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. Experience providing guidance and leadership to employees on daily activities and projects. Extensive grant writing and proposal experience. Strong partnership development and negotiation skills. Eligibility Pre‑employment medical history form required. Valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license when necessary for job‑related duties.
