This opportunity is based on a Maintenance Mechanic career path and is being offered by Staffmark to qualified candidates.Job DutiesPerform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and changeovers on high-speed packaging and filling equipment. Maintain alcohol batching and mixing tanks, storage tanks, and transfer systems. Diagnose and repair centrifugal and positive displacement pumps. Support production equipment including bottle unscramblers, rotary fillers, inline fillers, tube fillers, cappers, labelers, coders, conveyors, accumulation tables, cartoners, case packers, shrink wrappers, and stretch wrappers. Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems. Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability. Repair motors, gearboxes, drive systems, sensors, and photo-eye systems. Conduct machine setups and production changeovers. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Partner with production teams to support operational efficiency and minimize downtime. Follow all safety, quality, and maintenance procedures.Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required. Technical school, vocational training, apprenticeship experience, or industrial maintenance education is preferred. Technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in industrial maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systems are a plus.Experience RequirementsExperience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery or production equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of bearings, belts, chains, gears, motors, pumps, and related components. Ability to read equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, diagrams, and maintenance documentation. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and diagnostic equipment. Commitment to preventative maintenance, workplace safety, quality workmanship, and dependable attendance.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience maintaining and repairing high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment is required. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Experience with preventive maintenance, machine setup, changeovers, and production support. Knowledge of liquid filling systems, conveyors, cappers, labelers, pumps, and packaging equipment. Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with motors, gearboxes, drive systems, sensors, photo-eyes, and basic electrical controls. Experience in food, beverage, alcohol, pharmaceutical, or consumer product manufacturing environments is preferred.Physical CapabilitiesAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in varied positions throughout the shift. Ability to lift tools, replacement parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity to safely operate tools, perform repairs, and handle mechanical components.
