Registered Nurse

This position involves working in a medical surgical and oncology setting. The nurse will care for an adult population, including medical and surgical patients dealing with cancer. Palliative care and family education on oncological processes will also be part of the role. Urology and telemetry patients may be included in the patient population. The nurse will encounter a patient ratio of 4-5:1 during the day and 5-6:1 at night. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Candidates should be open to floating to other units as needed. Familiarity with chemotherapy administration is preferred but not mandatory. Key skills required include administration of blood and blood products, care and management of ports, and understanding complications related to chemotherapy. The role requires a strong focus on patient care, monitoring, and educational support for patients and their families. Documentation is performed using a specific electronic health record system. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams will be essential to ensure comprehensive patient care.
