Senior Telecom Engineer

Location: Remote, EST hours (EST/CST zone candidate only) Comms: Excellent comms are needed as the role is client facing (5/5 comms) Duration: 6-12 Months

Company & Role Overview:

• Inspira is transitioning from Avaya to 8x8 and from Cerner to Epic EMR, creating a need for telephony integrations.
• The company seeks a Senior Telecom Engineer contractor to assist existing team with projects, design, and operational support.
• The role requires a higher-level engineer to help with the workload and maintain critical phone system operations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong VoIP and SIP understanding, including SIP packets and headers, is a must-have.
• Experience with session border controllers, especially AudioCodes, is highly desirable.
• General networking knowledge, including routing, switching, firewalls, and security, is essential.
• Knowledge of API integrations (SCIM, HL7) and scripting languages (Python) is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Microsoft environments, including Azure, SSO, and Teams, is needed for integration.

Responsibilities:

• The candidate will participate in design discussions, develop proof-of-concept designs, and implement solutions.
• The individual will be responsible for all implementations, not handing them off to a vendor.
• The candidate will assist with API integrations, working with vendors like CTi and supporting them day-to-day.

Healthcare Experience:

• Healthcare experience is highly desirable due to specific integrations like Nurse Call systems and Spectralink Zebra systems.
• Understanding healthcare workflows and integrations is critical for success in the role.
