SEASONAL Daytime Cashier

Temporary Seasonal Position

This is a temporary seasonal position starting mid-late October. This position will end after 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts
• End each transaction by saying "thank you" to every customer
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
• Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policies
• Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
• Keep the checkout area stocked and clean

Scheduling:

Scheduling for this position will include weekday daytime hours.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
