NDT Level 2 Inspector / Non-Destructive Testing Technician Level IIWe are seeking a highly skilled and certified NDT Level 2 for Ultrasonic and Magnetic Particle Testing (UT/MT) Inspector to perform non-destructive testing and inspection activities across various projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections using multiple NDT methods, ensuring compliance with industry standards, specifications, and safety protocols. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in field environments while maintaining the highest quality standards.Under Socotec Engineering Inc (SEI), the Level II technician will be assigned appropriate non-destructive test equipment for which he is responsible for maintaining. The Level II tech will go to assigned projects and perform required testing. Results will be reported to SEI. Projects will include a diverse range of types including commercial, residential, industrial, and transportation. Projects will be located in the NY Greater Metro Area however some travel may be required. The technician is responsible for maintaining hours and certifications required to perform testing.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform non-destructive testing inspections using Level II certified methods including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Visual Testing (VT)Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) is optionalConduct field testing and obtain representative samples for laboratory analysis and verificationVerify conformance of materials, components, and assemblies to project specifications, codes, and industry standardsOperate, calibrate, and maintain NDT inspection equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocolsInterpret test results and prepare detailed inspection reports with accurate documentation of findingsReview and evaluate inspection data to identify defects, discontinuities, and non-conformancesCoordinate with project managers, engineers, and quality control personnel to resolve inspection issuesEnsure all inspection activities comply with applicable codes, standards (ASTM, ASME, AWS, etc.), and client requirementsMaintain inspection records, certifications, and calibration documentationParticipate in pre-inspection planning meetings and provide technical recommendationsTrain and provide guidance to NDT Level I technicians as neededWork with SEI's Level III Technician to obtain company certification.Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a culture of workplace safety
