This is a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated hematology team , developing long-term relationships with patients while practicing at the top of your license. The Pediatric Hematology APP will provide outpatient-focused care , managing return visits, supporting infusion center work-flows, performing procedures, and coordinating care across a multidisciplinary team.

Position Details:

\n

\n
• Schedule: Typically 5 x 8's day shifts (flexibility for 4 x 10's)
\n
• No overnight call, weekend / holiday rotation
\n
• Perform procedures including lumbar punctures and bone marrow biopsies, support infusion center workflows - including order management and coordination with nursing
\n
• Dedicated time for charting, care coordination, triage and follow-up
\n
• Strongly Preferred: Pediatric, hematology/oncology or procedural experience
\n
• Preferred: Interest in longitudinal patient care and procedural skills development
\n

Role Purpose

\n

Utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized area of nursing to diagnose, proscribe, and treat pediatric and neonatal patients within the scope of a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s) to support a designated clinical service.

\n

Responsibilities

\n

• Participates in professional development
\n
• Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
\n
• Coordinates the care of select patient populations to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.
\n
• Assumes a leadership role within a specific clinical specialty.
\n
• Manages the health care of select patient populations through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
