The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment providing care to patients with multiple comorbidities. The department includes a secure locked psychiatric area and various procedure rooms. Staff members include Charge RNs, RNs, ED Technicians, and a Resource Person in the psychiatric area. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1, with flexibility during surge times. Candidates must demonstrate adaptability and possess critical thinking skills. A strong desire to assist and care for patients is essential. Common procedures in this unit include trauma care, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, IV insertion, and psychiatric care. The ideal candidate is a motivated hard worker and a creative problem solver who is committed to patient care.
