Resort Food & Beverage Shift Manager - Full Time (Swing)

Resort Food & Beverage Shift Manager We are seeking a talented individual to become a Resort F&B Shift Manager at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage team members in the Food Court, Lobby Bar, Pool Bar, and Room Service. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: Oversee food service operations in assigned outlet, ensuring exceptional service to all guests. Assure outlets operate within established departmental guidelines, operating procedures and meet required governmental regulations. Maintain awareness of competitor food service times, standards, and operations, recommending improvements and/or changes in departmental services. Coordinate departmental participation at planning sessions for events and promotions involving new product offerings. Uphold, monitor, and review departmental policies, procedures, and rules, recommending changes and/or improvements. Meet labor cost, liquor, beer, and wine cost and revenue goals. Monitor guest alcohol consumption, authorizing any cut-offs. Promote teamwork among team members and follow the philosophy of the Food & Beverage Department. Present, to subordinate staff and other departments, a thorough knowledge of upscale service standards related to Food & Beverage operations and product marketing. Initiate a positive guest experience in any guest contact position by providing a welcome and/or greeting, making eye contact, smiling, and bidding a warm farewell. Conduct inspections and maintain cleanliness and safety standards. Ensure restaurant operates within established departmental guidelines, operating procedures and meets required governmental regulations. Monitor Food & Beverage services to guests, ensuring customer complaints are resolved immediately and the highest possible service standards are maintained. Ensure overall cleanliness, safety, and security of all areas. Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Maintain regular punctual attendance. Ability to work required overtime. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Bachelor's degree preferred. 3-5 years of leadership experience in casino food and beverage. Experience in full-service, high-volume operation in a high-end resort. Successful experience in building high-performance teams. Track record of stability in previous employment. Multi-Unit experience is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Office products. Experience with InfoGenesis system. Strong profit and loss operational knowledge. Proven leadership skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has supervisory responsibilities. Manages work procedures and expedites workflow. Provides coaching and counseling to team members. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must successfully complete R.S.A. ServSafe certification. Physical Demands Must be able to stand and walk for majority of shift. Must frequently reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, climb, push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance in varying work areas. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Work Environment The noise level is usually moderate.
