Senior Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $90,000 to $100,000 per year.

• Generate periodic reports for internal and external partners, including property performance reports and budget variances.
• Oversee the accounting for real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and development.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and implement best practices.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable for corporate and property-related expenses and revenues.
• Monitor and analyze budget performance, identifying variances and providing recommendations for adjustments.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts for real estate properties.
• Review financial statements for real estate properties, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Coordinate with external CPAs during annual tax preparation and assist in preparation of tax packages.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of advanced functions and pivot tables.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
• Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial reporting.
