Position: Substitute Custodian

Location: Newton Community School District

Substitute Hourly Wage: $15.50/hour

*Hired applicants must be able to pass both the DCI criminal history background check and the prework physical requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.

• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds

• Ability to read and comprehend directions for use of cleaning chemicals.

• Ability to understand and carry out mandatory federal regulations.

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

• Ability to follow policies and practices.

• Upon approval from DCI, applicant will receive information about the substitute onboarding process.

Position Information:Substitute employees will benotified of available substitute assignmentson an as-needed basis to fill in for absent staff. Hours and the frequency of assignments will vary depending on district staffing needs, employee absences, and the substitute's availability.
