The Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician ensures production equipment is operating effectively and efficiently. This role is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and related control systems and hardware. The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician develops and maintains strong working relationships by working closely with engineers, supervisors and other department staff.Responsibilities as a Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician:Ensure operation of equipment by completing all preventive maintenance formsLocate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, including manufacturing equipment and other associated support hardware, using precision test instruments to troubleshoot issuesMaintain manufacturing equipment, hand tools, assembly tools, production tools and fixturesRepair defective equipment by dismantling hardware, using hoists, cranes, Forklift, hand and power toolsFabricate/build production carts using FasTube and other materialsConserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsProvide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions, responding to requests and completing required documentationMaintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulationsPromote and support continuous improvement processes and projectsAssist with internal projects and provide support as neededQualifications for a Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 4 years of manufacturing production experienceMinimum of 2 years of industrial or manufacturing production equipment maintenanceApplicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EARAbility to diagnose and solve equipment issuesExcellent communication skills, written and verbalWilling and able to travel between buildings in the Livonia areaKnowledge of applicable safety proceduresStrong problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to understand and interpret technical documents including blueprints and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systemsAbility to perform light fabrication and weldingAbility to maintain current preventive maintenance (PM) scheduleAbility to work overtime as needed including weekendsMust have own hand toolsPreferred Skills & Experience:Technical certifications or formal training related to job dutiesAutomotive production line equipment repair experienceControls/Programable Logic Controller (PLC) controls experience is a plusAssembly equipment design and build/repair experienceAdvanced fabrication and welding skills are a plusExperience using a voltmeter for AC and DC applicationsOur full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, paid holidays, and more.If you share our passion for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges, we want you on our team.
