Job Description

This warehouse worker role focuses on supporting a busy returns operation for a K–12 ramp-up in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will handle packages throughout their journey in the facility, including loading and unloading trailers and trucks, sorting items to the correct destinations, and assisting with returns and rework activities. You will work as part of a diverse, collaborative, and energetic team on either first or second shift.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages from trailers and delivery trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Sort packages accurately to ensure they reach the correct destination within the facility.
• Support the returns section by processing returned items, including rework and repackaging as needed.
• Perform packing and packaging tasks to prepare orders for shipment or further processing.
• Pick and pull orders accurately using inventory and order picking procedures.
• Handle materials and products throughout the warehouse, including lifting, moving, and staging items.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including checking, organizing, and moving inbound and outbound freight.
• Operate general warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, where trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with warehouse safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and support a fast-paced workflow.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a warehouse environment, including loading and unloading tasks.
• Ability to perform returns processing and rework activities in a structured warehouse setting.
• Proficiency with packing, packaging, and order picking procedures.
• Experience with material handling, including lifting, moving, and staging products.
• Ability to support shipping and receiving operations in a production-oriented environment.
• Capability to lift, carry, and move packages and materials as part of daily duties.
• Experience operating forklifts or willingness to learn, where permitted and trained.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-driven warehouse setting.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting and order fulfillment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse, collaborative team on assigned shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in returns processing or rework within a warehouse environment.
• Background in general labor roles such as packing, loading, and material handling.
• Familiarity with inventory processes and order picking systems.
• Experience with GTW or similar production and warehouse workflows.
• Previous forklift operation experience or certification is beneficial.
• Flexibility to work either first or second shift as assigned.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse environment within the returns section of a large distribution facility. Fans will be overhead, but the temperature will vary, with hot conditions in the summer and cooler conditions in the winter months. The position offers first and second shift schedules, with steady hours and a production-focused atmosphere.

This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
