Job Title: Punch Press Operator Job Description
Set up and operate CNC turret punch press equipment according to work instructions and production requirements. Load raw materials into machines and ensure proper alignment and positioning. Run production jobs while monitoring machine performance and product quality. Adjust machine settings, tooling, and parameters as needed to maintain quality standards. Perform first-piece inspections and periodic quality checks throughout production runs.
Responsibilities
Monitor machine output and identify opportunities to improve cycle times and efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.
Inspect finished components using measuring devices such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and gauges to ensure hole patterns, tolerances, and overall part quality.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience operating CNC turret punch press equipment preferred.
Experience in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing environments preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
Knowledge of measuring and inspection equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CNC controls and programming adjustments is a plus.

Work Environment
Work in a small machine shop environment with a growing team of about 40 people. The company is expanding due to growth and has another site in Reading, PA. The position is for the 1st shift, with 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westminster, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
