Job Summary:

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements. Acute care settings include medical units, surgery, emergency, intensive care, childbirth, pediatrics, operating room, perianesthesia, endoscopy, and cardiac cath lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply clinical expertise to make appropriate patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs.
• Continuously enhance skills through evidence-based practice and ongoing education.
• Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
• Promote a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and programs.
• Maintain a strong focus on patient and workplace safety, reporting incidents and adhering to HIPAA and national safety standards.
• Engage in professional growth opportunities including certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership roles.
• Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and mentoring others.
• Adhere to organizational policies, maintain confidentiality, and participate in nursing research and peer review activities.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in accelerated MSN programs accepted.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications required or obtained upon hire.

Licensure:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state board.

Work Shift:

Third shift, full-time (36 hours weekly).

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
