Histotechnician II – Full-Time Position Details Day Shift Hours: Mon‑Fri with a set start time at 5:00 am. Flexible schedule of 4 or 5 days per week with 10‑ or 8‑hour shifts starting at 5:00 am. Possible weekend rotation. No holidays. Sign‑On Bonus (eligible applicants). Experience Non‑regulated with at least 3 years of histology (embedding/microtomy) experience will be considered. HT – ASCP or ASCP – HTL. Embedding, microtomy, and IHC experience (preferred). Requirements HT (ASCP) or equivalent certification. High school diploma or GED. 1 year of experience preferred. Role Purpose Responsible for providing a variety of routine and/or complex tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination. Responsibilities Understand test principles, theory, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas. Perform microtomy, embedding, staining, reagent preparation; document quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoot malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Perform special stains and immunohistochemistry (manual or automated) after reagent preparation. Apply critical thinking skills to perform above tasks and responsibilities. Assist in completing tissue gross examination as needed. Meet the high‑complexity qualifications as written in CLIA 42CFR493. Minimum Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: less than 2 years. Supervisor experience: None. Licenses & certifications: HT‑ASCP or equivalent. Preferred Requirements Education: Associate’s degree in Physical/Life Science or related field.
