Distribution Associate Weekend Shift Location: Covington, GA 30014 Employment Type: Contract / Temp-to-Hire potential Duration: 12 months Schedule: FridaySunday, 5:00 AM5:30 PM Education: High School Diploma or GED Required Drug Test: Required Job Summary The Distribution Associate is responsible for warehousing and material distribution activities related to receiving, handling, storing, and preparing products. Important: This is a combination of manual labor and forklift work. The position primarily involves manually unloading/emptying 18-wheeler trucks and stacking boxes, with minimal forklift usage. Candidates must have some forklift experience and be comfortable performing significant manual labor. This is not a straight forklift operator position. Key Responsibilities Manually unload and empty inbound 18-wheeler trucks. Stack boxes onto pallets according to specified pallet patterns. Operate forklifts/MHE as needed to move and locate materials. Locate pallets into racks and designated pallet/bin locations. Verify catalog numbers, lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates. Receive and process materials using RF scanners and inventory systems. Assemble/build sterilization loads according to established palletization diagrams. Place required biological indicators into sterilization loads. Initiate and maintain sterilization load documentation. Maintain accurate inventory and complete required system transactions. Follow safe lifting techniques when bending, lifting, turning, pushing, and pulling. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with procedures and quality requirements. Perform other warehouse duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Forklift experience preferred/required for consideration. Previous manual labor or warehouse experience. General warehouse knowledge. Ability to operate or obtain certification to operate a forklift. Ability to operate MHE and use RF scanners. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing/warehouse documents. Basic organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills. Must be willing to perform both manual labor and forklift duties. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Frequent repetitive use of hands and fingers. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. in some areas. Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment. Sufficient vision and hearing to safely operate MHE in a warehouse/distribution environment. Work Environment Moderate to loud noise levels. Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment. Potential temperature fluctuations. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Important Candidate Expectations This position is primarily manual labor, not straight forklift operation. Employees will spend most of their time manually unloading 18-wheelers and handling/stacking boxes, with limited forklift usage. Candidates who are looking exclusively for a forklift-driving position are not a fit. Temp-to-Hire Opportunity The department manager has funding and intends to convert successful contractors to permanent FTE positions. Candidates who perform well and prove themselves on the job may have an opportunity to convert to a permanent position.
