USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization’s mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport. USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves multiple constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, parents of rowers, masters rowers, adaptive rowers, collegiate rowers, indoor rowers and, most recently, coastal rowers. We are focused on growing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the sport of rowing on a national scale, on increasing support for our national team programs, and providing additional benefits and value to our over 77,000 individual members and 1,430 rowing organizations. Position Summary Job Summary: The Camps and Athlete Development Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of USRowing’s Camps and Athlete Development programs. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration and logistics of Development Camps, including Pathways Development Camp, Selection Development Camp, ID Camps, Para Development Camps, and Masters Camps. The Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for athletes, parents, coaches, and staff, supporting clear communication and a consistent, high-quality camp experience. The position also provides on-site support at camps and works closely with the Camps and Athlete Development team to ensure programs are organized, efficient, and aligned with USRowing’s athlete development goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary communication point for parents, athletes, and camp stakeholders, delivering clear, timely, and enthusiastic updates about camp logistics, expectations, and opportunities.
- Help athletes and families feel welcomed, informed, and excited to engage in the USRowing Pathway.
- Support logistical planning for all Development Camps, including registration oversight, travel coordination, accommodation details, and pre-camp documentation.
- Coordinate and provide on-site support at camps, assisting with day-to-day operations, athlete logistics, and event execution.
- Collaborate with coaches and directors to ensure smooth day-to-day execution of all camp operations.
- Help maintain alignment between ID Camps, Development Camps, and the broader USRowing High Performance Pathway.
- Assist in tracking athlete information, evaluations, and camp progression.
- Contribute to a positive, athlete-centered developmental environment that reflects USRowing values.
- Represent USRowing with professionalism and enthusiasm when interacting with families, clubs, and local hosts.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; degrees or experience in sport management, exercise science, sport psychology, coaching, kinesiology, or athlete development–related fields preferred.
- Rowing experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident managing parent and athlete inquiries.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and works well both independently and within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Passion for athlete development and interest in high-performance sport.
Compensation/Benefits: $47,000-$55,000 annual salary
